You Deserve a Seachange

6 March 2015 by Shane Cresser

If you have reached the age where an active over 50’s lifestyle resort sounds good, you may want to join a growing group of baby boomers who are enjoying life at Seachange Village Arundel.

We have gone to a lot of work to Queensland’s most awarded over 50’s lifestyle resort, which seems more like a resort than retirement living. So, how did we decide to make Seachange Village Arundel different to a typical retirement village? The short answer: because we believe you should love the way you live.

The Research

We decided that we didn’t want to use the traditional retirement village model. We decided that we would have an active over 50’s lifestyle community that was a 5- star resort with homes built within it. We wanted a place where people over the age of 50 could choose to live the lifestyle they deserve, whether they have retired or not. Ultimately, that is what separates Seachange Village Arundel from a typical retirement village: why wait to love the way you live?

In the next 25 years, the percentage of Australians in the 55-75 age group will double, eventually reaching a count of 5.3 million. In other words, over 50s communities will be in very high demand, so we decided to something a little different.

The Results

At Seachange Village Arundel, we have built a lifestyle resort where active adults over 50 can start living their preferred lifestyle right now. Whether retired or not, you will be able to enjoy active adult living with your peers at Seachange Village Arundel.

Using the great examples we found in the US, particularly Florida, Seachange Village Arundel is a true lifestyle resort with a calendar full of activities and opportunities for our residents to engage with life to their utmost.

Let us take care of the gardens, pools and facilities for you while you enjoy the fruits of your labours at Seachange Village Arundel.

The Core Values

At the top of our core values: active people over 50 sharing experiences and enjoying life with like-minded people on a daily basis. There is nothing like the enriching friendships that are quickly developed at Seachange Village Arundel. We also decided that we would be in a location where people dream of spending days filled with sunshine and nights spent with friends. Seachange Village Arundel on the Gold Coast; love the way you live!

Seachange Village Arundel is located conveniently close to shopping, recreation and medical facilities, and is built around a 5-star country club that enriches your mind, body and soul. To make your lifestyle comfortable, housing is energy-efficient and eco-friendly. You will be surrounded by the open spaces of parkland, and close to everything you need to nourish your mind, body and soul.

You Deserve a Seachange

If you have reached the age where an over 50’s lifestyle community sounds good, you may want to join a growing group of seniors who are enjoying life at Seachange Emerald Lakes. At Seachange Emerald Lakes, we don’t believe that over 50’s should live in a typical retirement community.

We have gone to a lot of work to provide an over 50’s gated country club estate that seems more like a resort than a retirement community. So, how did we decide to make Seachange Emerald Lakes different than the typical retirement community? The short answer: because we believe you should live your golden years as truly golden years.

The Research

When we decided to create a retirement community, we looked closely at retirement community models from across the world. We quickly realised that we didn’t want to create “just another retirement community.” Our research showed us that too many other retirement communities were places people involuntarily went to die after their families could no longer take care of them.

In too many traditional retirement villages, people moved there against their will after they were too ill or too disabled to enjoy their lives. They were full of people who had hung on to their homes, even though they were too big, until family members could no longer give them the care they needed. Then, they were made to give up a lifetime of personal belongings to downsize into a small room in a retirement community.

We decided that we didn’t want to use the traditional model. We decided that we would have an over 50’s lifestyle community that was a five star resort with homes built around it. We wanted a place where people over 50s could come voluntarily to live the lifestyle they deserve to live in their golden years. Ultimately, that is what separates Seachange Emerald Lakes from the typical retirement village: a lifestyle worth moving for right now.

The Results

At Seachange Emerald Lakes, we have built a retirement lifestyle village where active adults over 50 can start living their preferred lifestyle right now. You may end up downsizing your current home, but you are in much better shape to do that when you are still active and healthy than when you become a burden upon your family.

In the meantime, you will be able to enjoy active adult living with your peers at Seachange Emerald Lakes. Think of it as a 20-30 year period where you will be able to live a great life and enjoy the fruits of your labours. In the next 25 years, the percentage of Australians in the 55-75 age group will double, eventually reaching a count of 5.3 million. In other words, communities like Seachange Emerald Lakes will be in very high demand.

We would eventually find great examples for what we wanted to be in the US, particularly Florida. We decided to build an over 50’s resort at Emerald Lakes with a calendar full of activities and opportunities for our residents to engage with life to their utmost. Instead of being dragged, kicking and screaming, into a place they don’t want to live, we have built a place where our residents want to be; they move here voluntarily and happily.

The Core Values

At the top of our core values: active people over 50 sharing experiences and enjoying life with like-minded people on a daily basis. There is nothing like the enriching friendships that are quickly developed at Emerald Lakes. We also decided that the community would be in a location where people dream of spending their golden years.

Seachange Emerald Lakes is located conveniently close to shopping, recreation and medical facilities. It is built around a 5-star country club that enriches your mind, body and soul. To make your lifestyle comfortable, housing is energy-efficient and eco-friendly. We were sure to avoid apartments and high density, creating affordable homes in a medium density community that gives our residents room to breathe.

New Sales Centre Opens Doors at Seachange Emerald Lakes

28 October 2014 by Shane Cresser

LEADING developer Pradella Property Ventures’ $75 million over 50’s gated country club estate, Seachange Emerald Lakes, has unveiled its new onsite sales centre as it gets ready to release new homes to cope with demand.

Located at The Inlet Drive, the new onsite sales centre has been specially designed to function as a sales centre before it becomes a home.

“The opening of the sales display means that buyers can start to get a sense of what it is like to live in the Seachange Emerald Lakes community,” said Seachange Emerald Lakes Project Director Phil Goodman. “They can view first-hand the spectacular location and the superb quality of the homes’ fixtures and fittings.”

On the back of booming sales and strong demand from over 50s buyers looking for lifestyle properties in a prime location, Seachange Emerald Lakes will be fast-tracking the release of more Stage 2 homes in mid-November.

Construction on the community is also progressing well. Work on the first new homes is well underway and Gold Coast company Alder Constructions is set to begin construction on the community five-star country club in November.

“Construction has definitely been driving interest in Seachange Emerald Lakes and we expect enquiries will only increase with the opening of the new onsite sale centre,” Mr Goodman said. “An exclusive five-star community, Seachange Emerald Lakes is a wonderful opportunity for buyers to invest in a better lifestyle on the Gold Coast.”

This active over 50s gated country club estate, Seachange Emerald Lakes, has already received strong positive support from the surrounding community. Gold Coast City Council’s Division 8 Councillor Bob La Castra said over 50s in the area had embraced the community.

“Times change, people change and their needs and requirements change. Over 50s are more active and healthier than they have been in previous generations. They’re not ready to put on their slippers and just sit in front of the fire,” he said.

“Seachange has obviously got it right. There’s a need or a wish for it; people are voting with their feet and buying up. The lots have been walking out the door.”

Located in the heart of the Gold Coast at Emerald Lakes, Seachange Emerald Lakes will offer 126 high-quality, architecturally designed contemporary three bedroom freestanding homes.

Upon completion, Seachange Emerald Lakes will feature a 5-star country club with an indoor heated pool, tennis court, private cinema, gym, wellness centre and access to the Emerald Lakes championship golf course.

Everything you need is at your fingertips. Seachange Emerald Lakes has a number of lifestyle amenities on its doorstep including 13km of walking and bike tracks, a retail and commercial precinct, as well as upmarket restaurants and cafes.

There is direct access to the M1 motorway to Brisbane and it is only a five-minute drive to the Nerang Rail link and a 10-minute drive to Broadbeach and the Gold Coast beaches.

A GLAM development aimed at people in the 50-plus age bracket who want an active lifestyle is hitting early goals on the Gold Coast.

The $75-million Seachange Emerald Lakes has 10 Boulevard-facing homes remaining for sale in stages one and two – starting at $550,000 for a three-bedroom property.

Pradella Property Ventures will release the third stage within a month, prior to the opening of an on-site sales office in October.

Construction of the first homes is due to be finished in November and, upon completion, the estate will include 126 two and three-bedroom homes and a country club with an indoor heated pool, tennis court, private cinema, gym, wellness centre and access to a golf course.

Seachange project director Phil Goodman said demand for the first two stages had been very strong.

“As they look to downsize, more buyers in this demographic are seeking high-quality, active over 50s community as their preferred investment,” he said.

There’s excellent news for golfers too – Seachange has partnered with the local Emerald Lakes Golf Club and, as part of the current release, residents receive a free golf buggy and a five-year membership to the golf club.

The estate, at The InletDrive at Emerald Lakes, is close to the beach, shops, transport, restaurants and cafes, and just a five-minute drive from the Nerang Rail link.

Seachange promotes staying fit and fabulous at 50+

11 September 2014 by Shane Cresser

Good nutrition is important for everyone, and particularly as our requirements change with age.

Seachange Village Arundel one of Australia’s most awarded over 50’s communities is offering the opportunity to get FREE expert advice on how to stay healthy as you age from accredited dietitian, Sue Bell.

Sue and Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics students from Griffith University will conduct a health living seminar at Seachange’s 5-star Country Club from 10.30am – 11.30am on Thursday October 2nd.

Attendees to the seminar will also have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy morning tea with Seachange residents and experience first-hand the health and lifestyle benefits that living in an active over 50’s community can bring.

The presentation will deliver practical suggestions on eating better to live longer and prevent or delay chronic lifestyle related diseases.

It will also look at demystifying current fad diets and trends and utilising convenience meal options to reduce the burden of food preparation.

“Good nutrition is important for everyone, particularly as our requirements change with age and activity levels,” said Ms Bell.

“Eating well can assist maintenance of bone mineralisation, muscle mass and strength to allow us to maintain independence and enjoy our active lifestyles for longer.”

Seachange Project Director, Phil Goodman stated part of the reason people move into an over 50s lifestyle resort is to downsize their home and upsize their lifestyle.

“At Seachange Village Arundel, residents can participate in a huge range of sporting activities and social events. Our residents become fitter and more active which may result in a need for change in their diet,” said Mr Goodman

Ms Bell additionally stated as we move into our ‘golden years’, it is important to eat better, not less, so she encouraged people to choose the most nourishing foods first. This is where a good understanding of the core food group requirements can be invaluable.

“By following a healthy lifestyle with a nutritious diet and staying active the ageing process can be slowed and you may even be able to avoid age related chronic diseases such as heart disease, osteoporosis and diabetes,” said Ms Bell.
