Emerald Lakes

Having a good time while doing good at Seachange

29 January 2020 by Terence Moyana

A huge congratulations is due to the hardworking social committee and all home owners at Seachange Emerald Lakes who raised over $3000 for the Mudgeeraba Rural Fire Service at their Australia Day Party and Buggy Parade over the weekend.  Seachange are very pleased to support this spectacular effort by adding an extra $1000 to the tally, taking the total donation to just over $4000!

The day was an overwhelming success with not only a huge donation to a very worthy local charity, but a fantastic time had by all who attended.  The morning began with the raising of the Australian flag, followed by a parade of elaborately decorated buggies led by the Mudgeeraba Rural Fire Service truck.

The party continued in the Country Club with a lunch of delicious Aussie grub including pies and mush peas, Pavlova and lamingtons, with bush poetry readings and entertainment provided by “Washboard Stu and the Jugalugs”.   All in all the day was an excellent example of a community coming together to have a good time while doing good.

Seachange are extremely proud of our home owners at all of our resorts who regularly manage to combine giving back with having a great time.  Evidence shows that helping others is actually beneficial for your own mental health and well being.  It can help reduce stress, improve your emotional well being and even benefit your physical health.  The opportunity to join in to wonderful events and occasions such as these is one of the many benefits of being a part of the Seachange Community.

Practising Yoga at Seachange

23 January 2020 by Terence Moyana

One of the benefits of making the move to a Seachange Lifestyle Resort is the ability to join in the program of activities and events on offer.  An activity that that is popular with home owners at all Seachange Resorts is Yoga.  The list of benefits of yoga for over 50s is nearly endless.  Practising yoga regularly can improve balance, moderate pain, increase flexibility and even improve sleep quality and fight depression.

Not quite convinced? Here are some of the other benefits of practising yoga for over 50s

It’s low impact

Many fitness experts recommend low impact workouts for the over 50s because in general these exercises put less strain on joints and bones. Yoga is a great example of a low impact workout – it’s gentle enough but still offers some cardio and lots of excellent resistance training and stretching to help build and improve muscle tone.

It can improve your range of motion

Practising yoga just a few times a week can improve your flexibility and range of motion, something that’s particularly important as we get older. Our range of motion naturally declines as we age and carries the risk of greater injury from falls and can get in the way of daily life.

Yoga is a great antidote to that; regular stretching will help improve spinal flexibility and prevent falls by working on your balance – with each class you will be strengthening your lower body, particularly ankles and knees.

It combats arthritis pain

Yoga is an excellent exercise for arthritis sufferers because it promotes strength and flexibility but is still gentle at the same time. Research even suggests it can reduce pain and mobility problems in people with knee osteoarthritis.

It’s for body and for mind

Exercise of any kind can help improve your sleep quality and relieve stress, and this is especially true of yoga – the practice itself is as much about the body as the mind, and through breathing techniques and meditation, practising yoga can help you deal with stress and anxiety in the process.

Company History and Timeline

6 November 2017 by Adam Stead

Seachange Lifestyle Resorts is owned and operated by Pradella Property Ventures, bringing with it almost 60 years of experience, knowledge and innovation.

Founded in 1959 and still family owned, Pradella Property Ventures has long led the way in the pursuit of excellence in property development and is one of South East Queensland’s most-awarded, property development companies.

Among its most notable developments, Pradella lists the Metropolitan Hotel in Spring Hill, Hillcrest Apartments in South Brisbane, Paradise Island in Surfers Paradise, the Bardon Conference Centre, the Eagle Street Conference Centre, the Dockside Hotel and Brisbane’s Roma Street Parklands.

It is this extensive experience and driving commitment to success and innovation that first saw the company identify a gap in the market for over 50s retirement living – thus Seachange Lifestyle Resorts was born.

“Over the next 25 years the number of Australians aged between 55 and 75 will nearly double to 5.3 million people, and the demand to provide quality living options will be enormous,” says Seachange Lifestyle Resorts Managing Director, David Pradella.

“Our vision was to establish a benchmark in community living for seniors that would set the standard for everything to come.”

In 2008 therefore, the Seachange Lifestyle Resorts brand was created with 2009 bringing with it the creation of their first project at Arundel, which has since gone on to become Australia’s most awarded over 50s lifestyle resort.

This was followed in 2014 by Seachange Emerald Lakes. Together, the two lifestyle resorts have had combined sales of 550 residences, totalling some $300million.

Now in 2017, the Riverside Coomera development has expanded the Seachange offering, with its 124 homes, a Riverhouse and Country Club set to deliver yet another world-leading development.

“We’re very excited to unveil each stage of Riverside Coomera,” says David. “From the extensive list of amenities on offer, to the natural beauty of the site and the architectural style, we believe our latest lifestyle resort will be a truly unique product that will effortlessly set itself apart.

As to the future, Seachange already has a new project (at Toowoomba), to be released in 2018.

Seachange; A philosophy, not a location

25 September 2017 by Adam Stead

Most often, a seachange describes the move from a city in favour of a better life in a coastal community. At Seachange Lifestyle Resorts, we’ve taken this inherent concept of a change for the better and shaped it into our core philosophy; a true seachange is not just changing where you live, but how you live.

“When we set out to create Seachange we decided on a number of essentials that would be at the very core of our community living model,” says Alex McMahon, Pradella Director of Sales and Marketing.

“Certainly a desirable locale in a temperate climate was a cornerstone of our philosophy. But, we also realised that there were other intrinsic factors, namely easy access to infrastructure, award-winning facilities, eco credentials and housing that balances quality, style and affordability.”

Moving Forward

Seachange has certainly delivered on all fronts, with their first two communities  Arundel and Emerald Lakes. Both locations promptly sold out and were also awarded over 15 accolades from peak industry bodies.

“As with Arundel and Emerald Lakes, our latest release at Upper Coomera enjoys close access to established infrastructure for ease of shopping, medical needs, transport and recreational pursuits,” says Alex.

Facilities have also been carefully conceived and meticulously delivered, with a five-star Country Club at each location, overflowing with amenities.

Unrivalled Facilities

Emerald Lakes for example, combines (among other offerings), a library and woodwork shop, yoga studio, pool, spa and sauna. Arundel meanwhile, boasts a wine cellar, cinema, tennis pavilion, bowls lawn and even a veggie patch. All facilities are for the exclusive use of residents and their guests.

Additionally, each and every new home has been designed to be eco-friendly and energy efficient. This combined with a premium design, quality build and luxurious finishes make for a superb level of liveability both now and in the future.

“Combining our stunning homes, locations and facilities, we really feel we can stand by our brand and say Seachange truly does deliver a change for the better,” says Alex.

Continuing the Seachange Philosophy

Now with the release of Riverside Coomera well and truly underway and two more exciting developments in Victoria Point and Toowoomba soon to be released, Seachange Lifestyle Resorts is set to deliver this philosophy to an ever growing group of residents throughout South-East Queensland.

Sneak Peek of Seachange

26 April 2017 by Terence Moyana

Attendance at the recent “Sneak Peek” Twilight Viewing event at Seachange Emerald Lakes over 50’s gated country surpassed all expectations.

The “Sneak Peek” event held overlooking the picturesque 37ha Lake, was the first opportunity for people to see completed homes and get first impressions of the $75 million Seachange Emerald Lakes over 50’s gated country club estate project.

“There was an overwhelming response by invited Carrara locals and those who have expressed an interest in the project,” said Seachange Project Director, Phil Goodman. “127 people attended, with a further 110 turned away”.

he Seachange vision was to invigorate the mind, body and soul of the people who live there, with a range of health and wellness activities focussed at the five star County Club. Facilities include outdoor pool and indoor heated pool, flood lit tennis court, private cinema, gym, wellness centre and direct golf buggy access to an 18-hole championship golf course, stated Mr Goodman.

“Moving to Seachange is not about changing where you live, but how you live,” said he said.

Seachange Emerald Lakes delivers a fresh new alternative for over 50’s who want an active lifestyle within a secure community of like-minded people. The first residents have began to move in to their Stage One homes so they can be settled in time for Christmas.

The community will feature 126 homes in a master planned estate with everything you need at your fingertips. Many lifestyle amenities are on its doorstep including 13km of walking and bike tracks, a vibrant retail and commercial precinct, as well as upmarket restaurants and cafes – all easily accessed by golf buggy.

There is direct access to the M1 motorway to Brisbane and it is only 5 minutes’ drive to the Nerang Rail link and 10 minutes’ drive to Broadbeach and the Gold Coast beaches.

Seachange Emerald Lakes is the second property in the Seachange portfolio and follows on the great success of the award winning Seachange Arundel, which has been operating for five years.
