The Most Active Over 50’s Lifestyle Resort in Arundel?

14 May 2015 by Shane Cresser

If the opinions of our residents count, the most active over 50’s lifestyle resort in Arundel is Seachange Village Arundel. Seachange Village Arundel is an over 50’s gated lifestyle community that promotes an active mind, body and soul in all of our residents.

We built our community to be based on fun, fitness and friendship: a place where like-minded people could enjoy their neighbours and their community. In the village, interaction and activity are a part of our residents’ daily routine. There is always a friendly face nearby and always something great to do.

Safe and Secure

For those who like security and privacy, we ensure that our residents are safe and that their privacy is respected. The community is gated using a combination of closed circuit TV cameras and telephones to make sure that you are safe and sound while respecting your privacy at all times.

Fore!

For those who like golf, there are four golf courses within five minutes of home: Parkwood, Arundel, Tee Trees and Gold Coast. They provide varying levels of difficulty, allowing everyone an opportunity to play a course that suits their level of expertise.

Physical Fitness is Fun

It is easy to stay physically fit at Seachange Village Arundel. The Country Club has a pool, indoor sports, outdoor sports and exercise facilities. There are bushland walking paths. And there is always someone to exercise with. You can make friends, have fun and stay fit no matter what your current level of fitness may be.

The Community

The best part is that fitness, golf and security aren’t even the best part of living in Seachange Village Arundel: it’s the sense of community that really “makes” our village such a great place to live. At Seachange Village Arundel, you can spend quality time with friends and family on a daily basis.

12 May 2015 by Shane Cresser

When it comes to active adult living, it doesn’t get any better than Seachange Emerald Lakes. Seachange Emerald Lakes is a perfect example of why over-50 lifestyle villages are so popular on the Gold Coast and in northern NSW.

The gated country club estate was built with the vision of providing a retirement community for those over 50 who wish to keep their body, mind and soul active. Seachange Emerald Lakes is located in the Emerald Lakes precinct. It features over 13 km of walking paths and also allows residents to use buggies to get around.

Buggy-Friendly Lifestyle

All of the amenities in Seachange Emerald Lakes are directly accessible by buggy. This includes the Town Centre which contains a medical centre, shops, cafes and restaurants. In addition, the adjacent Emerald Lakes golf course is also accessible by buggy. It features a par-36 golf course and a world class clubhouse, restaurant and sports bar.

Seachange Emerald Lakes is centrally located, less than 10km from Jupiter’s Casino, Robina Town Centre, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Broadbeach and Nerang Railway Station.

Residents of Seachange Emerald Lakes describe it as an “over 50’s resort disguised as a retirement community.”

Safety and Security

Seachange Emerald Lakes keeps their residents secure with gated entry access. The entire community is wired with intercoms and discrete security cameras that are designed to ensure safety while preserving privacy. The intercoms work in tandem with remote control garages and telephones to keep your homes secure. In addition, on-site community managers are always on hand to keep your home safe, even if you are away.

What About Pets?

At Seachange Emerald Lakes, pets under 10kg are also welcome, but they are subject to approval. This is based on the best interests of the community. As a homeowner, you have the same rights as any homeowner would. Guests are welcome to stay as long as they like.

Village Green a New Stage in Over 50’s Living

1 May 2015 by Shane Cresser

Seachange Village Arundel has unveiled its new Village Green, designed to provide the community with an open air meeting place where residents can celebrate public events or indulge in physical, social or spiritual activities.

The Village Green has been planned to facilitate and respect the ways in which residents experience and use the area with friends and family.

It features an intimate Zen garden for meditation, yoga and Tai Chi, allowing the residents to nourish their mind, body and soul; a community pavilion for intimate private or social gatherings; two separate BBQ areas for social family or community gatherings; a community garden for green fingered residents; large grassed areas for recreation, exercise and the grandchildren to play; a state of the art wellness centre; and sparkling pool.

Seachange Project Director Phil Goodman stated that the Village Green was a wonderful place for residents of Seachange Village Arundel to meet, relax and socialise.

“They can read a book, practice yoga, share a Sunday picnic with their neighbours or enjoy an invigorating dip in the sparkling new pool,” he said.

“The new facilities will help residents stay active, healthy and engaged and enjoy a vibrant lifestyle at Seachange Village Arundel.”

Mr Goodman said the Village Green will also form an integral part of the Seachange walking trail as adjacent to the village is the 78ha Coombabah and Lakes Conservation area, 1.8 hectare park which has been created along the western boundary of the village.”

“Seachange has become renowned for its landscaped area, and the Village Green will be a showcase area for use by residents, their family and friends” he said.

Always Time for a Second Seachange

1 May 2015 by Shane Cresser

Retirees, Barbara and Marty Bos were original residents at Seachange Village Arundel five years ago and for three and a half years enjoyed living in the over 50’s lifestyle resort. However, they decided to briefly move back to their previous town, Windaroo, on Brisbane’s southside, to have a home and garden large enough to develop Barbara’s interest in dog fostering.

“I had been a volunteer at the Beenleigh Animal Welfare League for a number of years and not only missed the work but had a passion to foster dogs,” she said. They sold their home at Seachange and purchased a new river front home at Winderoo.

While enjoying re-connecting with old friends, they discovered maintaining their large new home and garden was so time consuming they ended up unable to foster dogs, with Barbara even giving up volunteering.

“After living at Seachange where all the activities and facilities are within walking distance, we had forgotten that at Winderoo we had to drive everywhere,” Barbara said.

In the middle of last year, in a serendipitous moment, Marty visited the Seachange Welcome Centre to get an information pack for friends from NSW who were looking to move to an over 50’s village. While there, he discovered a home was available in a position they had previously admired.

Within a short time they had purchased their new Seachange home and sold their old home. Marty, Barbara and their Shih Tzu-Maltese dog, Bessie, moved back to Seachange!

“We have come back home and it feels like we’ve never left,” said Barbara After moving to Seachange for the second time! In addition to getting back into a number of Seachange activities, Barbara was able to return to running line dancing classes and Marty started a new Chess club.

“We had not realised how much we missed all the activities, events and friends at Seachange,” Barbara said.

“This has the best location and facilities of any over 50’s village, everything here is amazing and brilliant. We may have retired but we have never been busier.”
