Seachange Kick start

15 November 2012 by Shane Cresser

Gold Coast City Council’s kick start Initiative could not have come at a better time.
Multi-award wining over 50s lifestyle community, Seachange Village Arundel, can’t keep up with demand and needs to build at least one home a week just to meet the demands of existing clients.

The introduction of the kick start initiative by the Gold Coast City Council has allowed the developers of Seachange Village to kick start another stage of the development and continue on with what has been a very successful year.

The Driftwood Park release has been on the drawing board for some time now but the developers have been holding back on commencement of work being a substantial release of thirty six homes. “For any developer, an undertaking of this size in this market means a significant contribution to infrastructure charges. With the kick start initiative we have now been able to redesign the development and focus on delivering affordable lifestyle homes for purchasers” Said Project Director Phil Goodman.

Seachange Village has continuously bucked all market trends over the last 3 years and have been acknowledged by the UDIA, winning best seniors development in QLD for 2011. Just last week they were also a finalist in the Special Purpose Housing category for the QLD HIA industry awards.

Sales Manager Alex McMahon says a number of factors have led to the sales success this year, however the underlying philosophy of providing a lifestyle community that is beneficial for the mind, body and soul has hit a chord with new residents.

“We are pressed to build enough homes and are now selling our display stock just to met the demand,” Mr McMahon says. “People are also happy to buy off the plan, which is a first for us as we have usually built homes and then sold them. The kick start initiative will now allow us to focus on a more affordable housing option for people wanting to live in the best lifestyle resort in Queensland”, said Mr McMahon

“Apart from the lifestyle on offer and the extensive country club facilities, Seachange is proving to be the preferred community for active over 50s and retires on the Gold Coast.”

The centerpiece of Seachange Village is the multi-million dollar residents-only 5-Star Country Club, which includes the most extensive selection of social, recreational and educational facilities available in any over 50s lifestyle community resort.

The community also boasts a large range of 7 star Greensmart energy efficient architecturally designed homes, ensuring a unique streetscape variety throughout the village.

Seachange is centrally located opposite the Arundel Plaza shopping and medical centre and within a short drive to the best of Gold Coast beaches, a range of golf courses and shopping, and just minutes from the M1 with easy access to Brisbane and northern NSW.

Residents enjoy fixed cost living with no stamp duty, conveyancing fees, exit fees (DMF) or council rates.

NSW Retirees Choose Seachange

24 August 2012 by Shane Cresser

NSW active over 50’s choose Seachange Village for best lifestyle in Queensland
While NSW retirees Wanda and Steve Fowler knew they wanted to retire on the Gold Coast, it wasn’t until they came across Seachange Village Arundel that they’d found their new home.

The couple, originally from Wollongong, started their search over four years ago and looked at a number of options, however the lifestyle and facilities at Seachange won them over.

“We moved into Seachange in April 2011 and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done, “ says Steve.

“We’re close to everything with a full service shopping centre and tavern just across the road, and hospitals, golf clubs and the beach not far away.

“Everybody we’ve met here is happy and friendly – it’s a great community.”

The Fowlers have quickly taken to the wide range of activities on offer at Seachange Village, with Wanda even teaching a weekly yoga class at the multi-million dollar residents only country club.

The couple are also involved in tennis, snooker, bowls, and even take part in the daily walking club that is frequented by a number of residents.

The Seachange country club has the most extensive selection of social, recreational and educational facilities available in any over 50’s lifestyle resort in Australia. “This has allowed Wanda and myself to change our lifestyle completely. No longer are our days spent maintaining our house, they are spent doing the things we love.” said Steve.

If you would like to come and meet Steve and Wanda and experience the Seachange lifestyle you are invited to the free morning tea in the residents clubhouse on Friday the 7th and 21st September.

The development has won a number of awards including the best Seniors Living Development in the 2011 UDIA , the 2010 HIA-CSR ‘Best in Queensland’ Award for ‘Residential Lifestyle Development’ and the 2010 ‘Greensmart Energy Efficiency’ Award Gold Coast/Northern Rivers.

Local Sporting Identity Joins Seachange

21 August 2012 by Shane Cresser

Local Tweed sporting identity Robert Parrella moves to Seachange

After Rob and Joan made a commitment to buy at “Serene” Tweed Heads, they began the agonizing wait to see when construction would begin, so they could start the next part of their lives. “So much time passed and we could not get any clear answers as to when we might be living in our new home” said Joan.

Robert and Joan already had friends who had purchased at Seachange last year and for months all they had heard about was how great Seachange was “We decided to go and have a look and see what we could get for our money. We were so surprised by the lifestyle, facilities, access to services and most of all the security. It ticked all the boxes, shopping and medical centre across the road and the new hospital is only 5 minutes drive from the resort. It was like nothing we had experienced before”. said Rob.

“When I came to Australia I grew up in the small town of Inglewood, Queensland where there was a real sense of community. The move to Seachange has given me back those feelings I had throughout my childhood. The people here have been so welcoming, the ability to build friendships in an environment that is all about healthy living, has given me a real sense of freedom. I just wish we had not wasted a whole year of our lives before making the decision to go to Seachange. I guess things happen for a reason. We ended up with a much bigger home for less money in a secure active community where we will both be happy for many years to come.” said Rob

Rob will be at the Tweed Seniors Expo at Twin Towns on the 20th September so drop in and say hello and ask about what life at Seachange is really like.

Whitehaven

The Jardin Concept

28 October 2011 by Shane Cresser

Whilst on a study tour through Florida in the USA the directors of the Award Winning Seachange Village Arundel saw the future of community living in over 50’s lifestyle villages where home owners have the benefit of enjoying a garden every day without the burden of having to maintain it.

In a first release of the concept in Australia, Seachange Village has developed a unique product, The Jardin, to further enhance its position as Award Winning Residential Lifestyle Development of the year. Seachange will rip up the existing concrete road and replace this with extensive landscaping to allow all homes to open on to a private garden sanctuary.

The Jardine release is the newest evolution for Seachange Village and offers for an exclusive limited release of 16 homes, a private landscaped boulevard that brings the joy and peace of the garden outlook into the home, every day.

To further compliment the Jardin concept new homes have been designed to take advantage of the extensive and private landscaped gardens and walkway that the homes open onto. One new home is the Miami which has an indoor/outdoor open plan area that extends the living area for year round entertaining. 3 large bedrooms, ensuite and separate guest bathroom, open plan kitchen and living area and double lockup garage.

As with all homes at Seachange, the Miami comes with reverse cycle ducted air conditioning, tiled floors, stone benchtops and a 7 star Greensmart Energy Rating. In recognition of the work done by Seachange Village in delivering on the best Over 50’s Active Lifestyle Community in Australia, the HIA recently awarded Seachange the Residential Lifestyle Development of the Year in Queensland, as well as the Greensmart Energy Award for home designs and Special Purpose Housing of the year for the Newport design.
