The Benefits of Pet Ownership

20 February 2019 by Terence Moyana

At Seachange, it is our mission to provide the very best in active adult lifestyle resorts. One of the cornerstones of this is to allow our homeowners the same rights they would have in their former homes. We feel that one of the best rights is pet ownership. For the safety of our residents and for the harmony of the community we do have a few breed restrictions. However, that doesn’t stop residents from having their favourite pet to keep them company. Over the years, there has been plenty of research done on the benefits of pet ownership, especially later in life.  We understand how lovely it is to come home to a dog or a cat that is ready to shower you with affection at the end of a busy day.

Benefits of Pet Ownership

The research on pet ownership is extensive and well-documented: here are some of the highlights.

  • Pet owners are more likely to be happy than those who don’t own pets. Interacting with a dog or cat has been found to increase the “happy” neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine. These make you happy and help you relax.

  • Pet owners have been found to have lower triglyceride levels, cholesterol levels and blood pressure than those who don’t own pets. In addition, heart patients with pets survive on an average of more than twice as long as those without pets.

More Benefits for Dog Owners

Especially in an active adult community, walking your dog helps you meet and interact with more people on a daily basis. We provide plenty of social opportunities at our resorts, but dog owners seem to feel a special kinship. Walking a dog every day provides exercise. It is a great start to the day for those who are active and is a great way to guarantee twenty life-extending minutes of walking every day.

A community on the move

15 February 2019 by Terence Moyana

The community at Seachange Riverside Coomera keeps growing and so are the list of benefits that residents get to enjoy every day. With the opening of the resorts River House late last year, residents have been able to engage in a variety of activities whilst enjoying panoramic river views.

The completion of this facility has paved the way for the start of the Resort’s activities and events program, which will continue to build the sense of community and allow this Resort to flourish. From veggie growing and cooking to fishing and swimming, residents are discovering all the fun activities they can engage with friends and family.

Besides the broad range of activities home owners have access to within the Resort, they will also soon be able to enjoy regular outings and travel in style with the introduction of a brand new community bus. The addition of the spacious 12 seater offers a great opportunity for residents to get out and about together.

If you would like to find out more about this growing community, contact us now on 1800 006 603 for an opportunity to visit the resort or attend a complimentary morning tea event.

First Christmas party at the River House!

6 December 2018 by Terence Moyana

Residents at Seachange Riverside Coomera have celebrated their first Christmas party at the newly opened River House.

With the great weather and the stunning views of the Coomera River, it was the perfect setting for a wonderful evening.  It was an occasion where not only neighbours but friends came together to share memories and tell stories of the past year.

Our first residents at Seachange Toowoomba have moved in!

4 December 2018 by Terence Moyana

HAPPY RESIDENTS: Joe and Berris Robinson share with sales consultant Lorraine Walton (centre) how glad they are they made the move to Seachange Toowoomba

November has been an extremely busy month for Toowoomba’s newest over-50s lifestyle resort, Seachange Toowoomba.

The completion of the new Summer House and display homes has offered visitors the ability to experience the Seachange difference — in both the quality of design and delivery of the vision: to set a new benchmark in over 50s living in the Darling Downs Region.

Last week another major milestone was reached, with the first home owners moving into the resort.

Joe and Berris Robinson moved quickly to secure one of the first display homes, in a prime position on the corner of the resort’s wide and leafy Main Boulevard.

Joe and Berris have lived in many places all over Australia with Joe having been in the Air Force for 20 years, but have decided to settle in Toowoomba.

Toowoomba appealed to them as it offered everything they need in a city. It was also a convenient central base for them to continue travelling and enjoying their retirement.
Joe and Berris are no strangers to resort living, having lived in another two over-50s resorts outside of Toowoomba.

They knew that resort living offered an ideal setting to enjoy great facilities, the company of like-minded neighbours and the ability to ‘lock and go’ knowing that their home is secure and someone will maintain gardens and lawns in their absence.

After looking at the available options in Toowoomba, they visited Seachange and found that it offered them everything they were looking for in their forever home. The perfect size and layout, the overall masterplan of the resort and the high quality of finishes in both the home and facilities made it an easy and quick decision.

Seachange simply ticked all of their boxes and they look forward to moving in and watching their community grow around them.

The Seachange Story; So Far

12 September 2017 by Terence Moyana

Last month’s ground-breaking ceremony at Riverside Coomera marked the commencement of the latest master-planned lifestyle resort from the Pradella Property Ventures Brand.

The release follows the successfully completed sales campaigns of Seachange’s first two locales, Arundel and Emerald Lakes which together, have had a combined 550 sales totalling $300 million.

Riverside Coomera will now follow, commencing the next exciting stage of its $71 million development. Ground works will start across the 3ha site with the first release of houses due in November 2017.

The release of this third property will also mark another exciting chapter in the Seachange story. Seachange was one of the first companies in Australia dedicated to building specifically designed communities for over 50s.

It was also the first to offer a retirement living model that fully embraced the concept of active adult community living. A notion that to this day, continues to refine and shape the Seachange brand.

“At Seachange, we believe that active people are happy and healthy people, and a true seachange is not just changing where you live, but how you live,” says Managing Director, David Pradella.

It is in part thanks to this inspired thought process, that has resulted in Seachange now also being the most awarded in its field. Seachange has received accolades for its Arundel property presented by major peak bodies including HIA, Master Builders and the Urban Development Institute of Australia.

Justifiably, Seachange are suitably proud of this track record, as is its parent company, the family-owned Pradella Property Ventures. Seachange is backed by more than 50 years experience in Pradella and shares in their continual pursuit of excellence.

The Seachange brand certainly shares this drive for distinction, embracing a commitment to quality along with a strong focus on innovation. Indeed each Seachange development is built with technology, sustainability and liveability all delivered in equal measure.

As to the future, the Seachange brand has several exciting new lifestyle resorts in the pipeline.

While their exact locations and plans are yet to be released, what is certain, is that each development will continue to deliver the same innovation, as well as the premier build-quality and luxurious finishes that define and shape the Seachange brand.

Sneak Peek of Seachange

26 April 2017 by Terence Moyana

Attendance at the recent “Sneak Peek” Twilight Viewing event at Seachange Emerald Lakes over 50’s gated country surpassed all expectations.

The “Sneak Peek” event held overlooking the picturesque 37ha Lake, was the first opportunity for people to see completed homes and get first impressions of the $75 million Seachange Emerald Lakes over 50’s gated country club estate project.

“There was an overwhelming response by invited Carrara locals and those who have expressed an interest in the project,” said Seachange Project Director, Phil Goodman. “127 people attended, with a further 110 turned away”.

he Seachange vision was to invigorate the mind, body and soul of the people who live there, with a range of health and wellness activities focussed at the five star County Club. Facilities include outdoor pool and indoor heated pool, flood lit tennis court, private cinema, gym, wellness centre and direct golf buggy access to an 18-hole championship golf course, stated Mr Goodman.

“Moving to Seachange is not about changing where you live, but how you live,” said he said.

Seachange Emerald Lakes delivers a fresh new alternative for over 50’s who want an active lifestyle within a secure community of like-minded people. The first residents have began to move in to their Stage One homes so they can be settled in time for Christmas.

The community will feature 126 homes in a master planned estate with everything you need at your fingertips. Many lifestyle amenities are on its doorstep including 13km of walking and bike tracks, a vibrant retail and commercial precinct, as well as upmarket restaurants and cafes – all easily accessed by golf buggy.

There is direct access to the M1 motorway to Brisbane and it is only 5 minutes’ drive to the Nerang Rail link and 10 minutes’ drive to Broadbeach and the Gold Coast beaches.

Seachange Emerald Lakes is the second property in the Seachange portfolio and follows on the great success of the award winning Seachange Arundel, which has been operating for five years.
