Residents Tee Off at Seachange Masters Golf Championship

2 June 2015 by Terence Moyana

SEACHANGE Village Arundel residents enjoyed a fun, social day out on the green at the second annual Seachange Masters Golf Championship at the start of the month.

We had a fantastic turn out for the day, with 10 teams of four people participating in the Ambrose style competition at the Arundel Hills Golf Club on June 1.

The rules were simple: all players in the team teed off, the best shot was selected and all team players had to hit again from that same spot. The best second shot was then selected, with all players hitting from that same spot. This continued until the ball was holed.

All teams were selected by handicaps for a fair competition.

At the end of the day, the winning team, comprising of Jenny Parmenter, Judy Smith, Steve Fowler and Phil Goodman, won a perpetual trophy for its efforts.

Winning team member Jenny said it was a great social day of golf.

“Obviously winners are grinners, but everyone had fun as well,” she said.

“We all played very well as a team that day but on the last shot Judy chipped off the green and it just kept going and going and then it went in. It was quite a long putt! I would love to participate again even if I’m not on a winning team.”

The team thanked Seachange Village Arundel for its sponsorship of the annual event.

The Most Active Over 50’s Lifestyle Resort in Arundel?

14 May 2015 by Shane Cresser

If the opinions of our residents count, the most active over 50’s lifestyle resort in Arundel is Seachange Village Arundel. Seachange Village Arundel is an over 50’s gated lifestyle community that promotes an active mind, body and soul in all of our residents.

We built our community to be based on fun, fitness and friendship: a place where like-minded people could enjoy their neighbours and their community. In the village, interaction and activity are a part of our residents’ daily routine. There is always a friendly face nearby and always something great to do.

Safe and Secure

For those who like security and privacy, we ensure that our residents are safe and that their privacy is respected. The community is gated using a combination of closed circuit TV cameras and telephones to make sure that you are safe and sound while respecting your privacy at all times.

Fore!

For those who like golf, there are four golf courses within five minutes of home: Parkwood, Arundel, Tee Trees and Gold Coast. They provide varying levels of difficulty, allowing everyone an opportunity to play a course that suits their level of expertise.

Physical Fitness is Fun

It is easy to stay physically fit at Seachange Village Arundel. The Country Club has a pool, indoor sports, outdoor sports and exercise facilities. There are bushland walking paths. And there is always someone to exercise with. You can make friends, have fun and stay fit no matter what your current level of fitness may be.

The Community

The best part is that fitness, golf and security aren’t even the best part of living in Seachange Village Arundel: it’s the sense of community that really “makes” our village such a great place to live. At Seachange Village Arundel, you can spend quality time with friends and family on a daily basis.

Active Adult Living at Seachange Emerald Lakes

12 May 2015 by Shane Cresser

When it comes to active adult living, it doesn’t get any better than Seachange Emerald Lakes. Seachange Emerald Lakes is a perfect example of why over-50 lifestyle villages are so popular on the Gold Coast and in northern NSW.

The gated country club estate was built with the vision of providing a retirement community for those over 50 who wish to keep their body, mind and soul active. Seachange Emerald Lakes is located in the Emerald Lakes precinct. It features over 13 km of walking paths and also allows residents to use buggies to get around.

Buggy-Friendly Lifestyle

All of the amenities in Seachange Emerald Lakes are directly accessible by buggy. This includes the Town Centre which contains a medical centre, shops, cafes and restaurants. In addition, the adjacent Emerald Lakes golf course is also accessible by buggy. It features a par-36 golf course and a world class clubhouse, restaurant and sports bar.

Seachange Emerald Lakes is centrally located, less than 10km from Jupiter’s Casino, Robina Town Centre, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Broadbeach and Nerang Railway Station.

Residents of Seachange Emerald Lakes describe it as an “over 50’s resort disguised as a retirement community.”

Safety and Security

Seachange Emerald Lakes keeps their residents secure with gated entry access. The entire community is wired with intercoms and discrete security cameras that are designed to ensure safety while preserving privacy. The intercoms work in tandem with remote control garages and telephones to keep your homes secure. In addition, on-site community managers are always on hand to keep your home safe, even if you are away.

What About Pets?

At Seachange Emerald Lakes, pets under 10kg are also welcome, but they are subject to approval. This is based on the best interests of the community. As a homeowner, you have the same rights as any homeowner would. Guests are welcome to stay as long as they like.

Wheels in Motion

Wind blowing in their hair, zipping along streets and paths, the latest members of Seachange Emerald Lakes’s golf buggy gang test out their new rides.

The gated over 50’s community, beside Emerald Lakes golf club, is one of the first buggy friendly retirement communities in Queensland.

New residents were recently given the keys to a free buggy and golf club membership, and the novel vehicles have become a way of life.

Pradella chief executive Phil Goodman said the comfortable, clean-energy buggies had helped residents get to know each other.

“The buggy is a much more social animal,” he said. “Everyone stops and talks to you; it is much more sedate. That just doesn’t happen in a car.”

“It not only allows everyone to have an identity, they know they are from Seachange Emerald Lakes, but it also allows them to start a conversation outside the community.”

The first batch of buggies were all the same, but Mr Goodman said residents were already keen to get their hands on upgrades to personalise their vehicles.

“The biggest thing we found is people have always craved one,” he said.

“They see it as being part of this premium community, and when they are given one it;s the best thing. The response has blown me away.”

Mr Goodman said within the Seachange community, buggies could be driven on roads and paths, as well as over the bridge.

Homes and shops have buggy parking, and a planned Woolworths has incorporated buggy parking into its design.

Resident David Sylow said the golf buggies were a fun, social way to get some fresh air and meet up with friends and neighbours.

On completion Seachange Emerald Lakes will have 126 homes in a country club estate featuring an indoor pool, cinema gym and lake. The local area has 13km of walking/bike tracks, shops and restaurants.

It is five minutes drive from Nerang rail link and 10 minutes drive to beaches.

As seen in the Courier Mail 9 May 2015.
