Real Seachange

25 September 2014 by Shane Cresser

A GLAM development aimed at people in the 50-plus age bracket who want an active lifestyle is hitting early goals on the Gold Coast.

The $75-million Seachange Emerald Lakes has 10 Boulevard-facing homes remaining for sale in stages one and two – starting at $550,000 for a three-bedroom property.

Pradella Property Ventures will release the third stage within a month, prior to the opening of an on-site sales office in October.

Construction of the first homes is due to be finished in November and, upon completion, the estate will include 126 two and three-bedroom homes and a country club with an indoor heated pool, tennis court, private cinema, gym, wellness centre and access to a golf course.

Seachange project director Phil Goodman said demand for the first two stages had been very strong.

“As they look to downsize, more buyers in this demographic are seeking high-quality, active over 50s community as their preferred investment,” he said.

There’s excellent news for golfers too – Seachange has partnered with the local Emerald Lakes Golf Club and, as part of the current release, residents receive a free golf buggy and a five-year membership to the golf club.

The estate, at The InletDrive at Emerald Lakes, is close to the beach, shops, transport, restaurants and cafes, and just a five-minute drive from the Nerang Rail link.

Seachange promotes staying fit and fabulous at 50+

11 September 2014 by Shane Cresser

Good nutrition is important for everyone, and particularly as our requirements change with age.

Seachange Village Arundel one of Australia’s most awarded over 50’s communities is offering the opportunity to get FREE expert advice on how to stay healthy as you age from accredited dietitian, Sue Bell.

Sue and Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics students from Griffith University will conduct a health living seminar at Seachange’s 5-star Country Club from 10.30am – 11.30am on Thursday October 2nd.

Attendees to the seminar will also have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy morning tea with Seachange residents and experience first-hand the health and lifestyle benefits that living in an active over 50’s community can bring.

The presentation will deliver practical suggestions on eating better to live longer and prevent or delay chronic lifestyle related diseases.

It will also look at demystifying current fad diets and trends and utilising convenience meal options to reduce the burden of food preparation.

“Good nutrition is important for everyone, particularly as our requirements change with age and activity levels,” said Ms Bell.

“Eating well can assist maintenance of bone mineralisation, muscle mass and strength to allow us to maintain independence and enjoy our active lifestyles for longer.”

Seachange Project Director, Phil Goodman stated part of the reason people move into an over 50s lifestyle resort is to downsize their home and upsize their lifestyle.

“At Seachange Village Arundel, residents can participate in a huge range of sporting activities and social events. Our residents become fitter and more active which may result in a need for change in their diet,” said Mr Goodman

Ms Bell additionally stated as we move into our ‘golden years’, it is important to eat better, not less, so she encouraged people to choose the most nourishing foods first. This is where a good understanding of the core food group requirements can be invaluable.

“By following a healthy lifestyle with a nutritious diet and staying active the ageing process can be slowed and you may even be able to avoid age related chronic diseases such as heart disease, osteoporosis and diabetes,” said Ms Bell.

Resident recommendations at Seachange generate strong family response

7 August 2014 by Terence Moyana

RESIDENTS at the Gold Coast’s premier over 50s active lifestyle community, Seachange Village Arundel, enjoy the vibrant lifestyle so much that they actively encourage their family and friends to join them.

A total over 200 sales enquiries have been generated by resident referrals.

Seachange Arundel is renowned for its strong sense of community and vibrant lifestyle. The village has a vast calendar of activities and events available at its 5 star Country Club and residents continue boast of the new friends they make and the number of great, like minded individuals living in the community.

“Baby boomers understand how living within a community like Seachange will nourish the mind, body and soul to extend their life,” Seachange Village Arundel Project Director Phil Goodman said.

“They also understand that downsizing their home at an earlier age will enable them to reduce the burden of traditional home ownership.”

Resident Jennifer Shepherd said she and her husband Paul loved living at Seachange so much that they persuaded her parents to make the move.

Harold and Annette McLean moved from northern NSW to Seachange in January.

“We knew straight away that Seachange would suit my parents,” Jennifer said.

“They had previously lived in a retirement village, then moved to a suburban home and found they missed the lifestyle and community. They both play bowls and Mum also plays tennis and loves line dancing.

“The main motivators for the move to Seachange included security, the compact design of their new home, access to shops and the medical centre across the road and being five minutes drive to the new Gold Coast Hospital. Being also able to live with family and friends in a community of like-minded people was an added bonus. Coincidentally they also found some past acquaintances lived here.”

Located centrally on the Gold Coast, Seachange Village Arundel sets the benchmark for over 50s lifestyle living and offers everyone you need right on the doorstop.

The centerpiece is the five-star Country Club, which includes one of the most extensive selections of social, recreational and educational facilities available in any over 50s lifestyle resort. The Country Club has something to suit everyone’s preferences and features a function room and bar, gymnasium, cinema, library, billiard room, computer room, workshop, art room, indoor heated lap pool, spa, sauna, large outdoor pool, lawn bowls and floodlit tennis courts.

Seachange Village Arundel is conveniently positioned opposite the Arundel Plaza Shopping Centre, Arundel Plaza Medical Centre and Arundel Tavern. It is also close to the new Gold Coast Hospital and light rail system and is within a short drive to the best of the Gold Coast’s beaches, golf courses, major shopping centres and the M1.

Seachange Village Arundel offers architecturally designed homes with a lifestyle to match. The village delivers flexible designs to accommodate the evolving needs of residents and outstanding community facilities.

Seachange Residents Show Their Creative Side

7 August 2014 by Terence Moyana

The Gold Coast’s leading over 50s resort Seachange Village Arundel has highlighted its passion for promoting active, vibrant lifestyles with the return of its popular Seachange Art & Craft Exhibition and Cocktail Party this month.

The annual event showcases the talents of Seachange’s residents and is back bigger and better than ever with more than 15 categories. It will be held at Seachange’s 5-star Country Club on Saturday, August 23 from 4.30pm.

“This is one of our major and most popular events for the year,” said Seachange Social Club Coordinator Brian Dawson.

“Residents have produced an incredible array of high quality art and craft work from our very own art and sewing room and workshop at the Country Club.

“All works will be available for sale on the night.”

Local artistic identities, including professional acrylic artist Velia Newman, will conduct the judging on the evening.

Painting categories include acrylic, oil, watercolour, pastel, drawing, charcoal, and pen and ink. Craft categories include cross stitch and tapestry, quilts and appliqué, knitting, crochet and weaving, cards, jewellery, and turned and handcrafted wood work.

“In our usual Seachange style, the event will feature live entertainment with classical pianist and bass player – Amica Duo performing throughout the evening,” said Brian.

“Also, in keeping with the art theme, caricaturist Wayne Ransom will provide free portraits to lucky door prize winners.”

Seachange Project Manager Phil Goodman said the residents of Seachange responded to baby boomers desire to downsize financial commitments while upsizing their lifestyle.

“Seachange is tailored to maximize the lifestyle opportunities offered to residents,” he said.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Gold Coast homeless charity Rosies.

The Seachange Art & Craft Exhibition and Cocktail Party will be held at 299 Napper Road Arundel at Seachange’s 5-star County Club Saturday 23rd August from 4.30pm. To register your attendance, visit seachangegoldcoast.com.au or phone 1800 652 797.
