Work starts on second Country Club at Seachange Toowoomba

3 September 2019 by Terence Moyana

A significant milestone will be reached in the coming month at Seachange Toowoomba with work starting on construction of the second Country Club.  This milestone will see Seachange become the first over 50s resort in Toowoomba to include not just one spectacular Country Club, but two.

The first; The Summer House was completed in November 2018 and is already being enjoyed by home owners as a relaxed spaces for residents to catch up with family and friends. This architectural master piece offers relaxed spaces for residents to catch up with family and friends. An extensive lounge and games room flows out to a BBQ pavilion and fire pit that overlooks the heated swimming pool and tennis court.

The aesthetics of the building draw inspiration from Hamptons styling, which was apt given both the location on Hampton Street and also the desire to create a relaxed, elegant and iconic building.  The craftsmanship and quality of this facility was recognised recently upon winning the Master Builders Award for best Community Facility up to $5million.

Some key Hampton’s features that have been incorporated include the use of timber paneling, high pitched ceilings with exposed timber beams, timber floors, neutral and ocean inspired colours, natural materials and an abundance of light.

The second Country Club, affectionately referred to as the big brother to the Summer House is located in the premium position on the site at the end of our Main Boulevard overlooking Adams Park.  The Country Club continues the Hamptons theme seen in the Summer House, but is a more formal in its finish and feel.

Stepping through the entry of the Country Club you will feel like you are entering a private members club.  The facility has been designed to be an extension of every resident’s living room and a built expression of our mind, body and soul philosophy.

To nourish the mind we incorporated a cinema, arts and craft studio and workshop so that our residents can continue to develop their life skills and hobbies. To nourish the body we incorporated the best sporting facilities – including a heated indoor pool, gym and bowling green – so our residents can keep fit and fabulous.  To nourish the soul we have designed beautiful community spaces for friends to meet and groups to gather – meeting rooms and a dining room with stage and a dance floor.

With the 2 facilities combined home owners at Seachange Toowoomba will enjoy an unparalleled lifestyle with everything amenity imaginable right on their door step.

Visit the sales office now to find out how you can join Toowoomba’s premiere resort designed for active over 50s.

Seachange Toowoomba leading the way in sustainability and affordability

26 August 2019 by Terence Moyana

Seachange Toowoomba is now the first over 50s resort in the Toowoomba region to be awarded the UDIA (Urban Development Institute of Australia’s) Envirodevelopment certification.

EnviroDevelopment is a scientifically-based assessment scheme that independently reviews development projects and awards certification to those that achieve outstanding performance across 6 elements – Ecosystems, Waste, Energy, Materials, Water and Community.  Seachange Toowoomba has been awarded certification in all 6 areas.

“Receiving the UDIA Envirodevelopment certification is an important recognition of our commitment to delivering high quality projects with sustainability as a priority.  Sustainable homes are more comfortable to live in and offer substantial day to day savings for our home owners.  We know that in retirement one of the biggest burdens can be the rising cost of living and we want to ensure that we have planned for the needs of our home owners both now and into the future.”  Commented Pradella Property Ventures CEO, Warren Harris

Seachange Toowoomba may be the newest over 50s resort in the region, but is fast establishing itself as the leader, being recognised at the recent Master Builders Awards for its outstanding quality and craftsmanship.  The Summer House recreational facility took out best Commercial building up to $5 Million and The Cunningham design won for best display home.

Following feedback from buyers Seachange Toowoomba has this month launched 3 new home designs as a part of their Avenue series.  These homes showcase the award winning quality that the project is quickly becoming known for, at an affordable entry price of under $399,000.

“This project delivers an enviable lifestyle for home owners who are looking for peace of mind when it comes to their financial security in retirement.  The combination of affordable entry prices and careful planning to safeguard home owner’s ongoing costs, is a winning formula and one that sets us apart.”   Said Alex McMahon director of Sales and Marketing

Display homes are open at the resort are open Mon-Sat 9am-5pm for those interested in finding out  more.

Seachange Riverside Coomera, Downsize to Luxury

12 August 2019 by Terence Moyana

More than half the homes in an over 50s riverfront community at Coomera have now sold as downsizers look to their future and embrace an environmentally-friendly lifestyle.

Seachange Riverside Coomera is a boutique development of 124 homes set on more than 6ha on the Coomera River.

Marketed as a “Lifestyle Resort” it offers a variety of home designs along with community facilities including a River House recreational centre, a newly completed Country Club, pools, a bowling green and an art studio.

Seachange Riverside Coomera is the third over 50s resort to be developed by Pradella Property Ventures and sales director Alex McMahon said it was designed to offer a sustainable active lifestyle.

The properties include premium finishes, high-end appliances and range in size from 140sqm to 235sqm.

Mr McMahon said the site featured green space on three sides, views to Mt Tamborine and a 20m environmental zone along the river.

The master-planned community also incorporated environmental features such as solar power, natural materials, water retention and landscaping.  “What this demographic wants is good quality homes in a pristine location, and if you can build a sustainable development you reduce the cost of living for residents in the future.” Mr McMahon said.

He said buyers now had a greater understanding of the difference between over 50s communities and retirement villages.

“When we started in the industry 10 years ago we had to educate people, but now a new wave of buyer is coming through.  Where once residents tended to be over 70, our youngest is 53”

Seachange Riverside Coomera Country Club opens its doors

29 July 2019 by Terence Moyana

On the 19th of July home owners at Seachange Riverside Coomera were able to enjoy the first celebrations in their brand new Country Club.  The spectacular facility was delivered to the community ahead of schedule and is designed to provide an ideal setting for homeowners to come together to share common interests and help to enrich each other’s minds, bodies and souls.

The Riverside setting for the development has been the inspiration for the design of the Country Club to harmonise nature with the interiors by using natural elements such as stone, timber and plants.  This generates a soothing organic atmosphere capturing texture and a colour palette synonymous with the environment providing warmth to a space that will be the heart and soul of the community.

The gardens surrounding the exterior of the building have been inspired by the Arizona landscape with environmentally hardy succulents combined with rustic timber and stone.  On entry you step onto the cool tones of stone patterned by nature and complimented by the timber feature wall and stunning metal chandelier.

The carpets used in the building are solution dyed nylon with recycled content in keeping with the projects approach to sustainability.  The artwork gently carries the natural theme up on to the walls sublimely hinting at nature through abstract formations and complimenting the palette.

The Lounge has the feel of a desert lodge retreat boasting large stone feature walls with a built fireplace and shelves flanking it.  This room has the ultimate feeling of comfort and rustic appeal.  Beautiful metal and glass pendants hang from the ceiling bringing in a bold statement which flows into the coffee and side tables.  Classic sofas and tub chairs upholstered in rich blues and beige display textured cushions mixing all the tones on to one canvas.  The beautiful timber laminate floors give the room a warm finish with beautiful woven rugs softening the space and anchoring the design.

The Function Room has endless glass windows and doors overlooking the resorts bowling green and twin pickle ball courts.  This room has lots of natural light and an abundance of space, a perfect spot when meeting friends for a game of cards or when attending large functions.  A beautifully fitted kitchen and bar, using timber and stone, carry the theme with a hint of a restaurant environment with the beautiful finishes and lighting.  Large reclaimed timber beams run the length of the bar and kitchen in their natural splendour.  The function room tables are finished in the walnut tones with ergonomically designed black chairs.

The cinema is reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour adorned with images iconic stars of the golden age framed by upholstered walls in rich red velvet.  The large screen and AV system combine with large leather recliner chairs for the ultimate cinema experience.  The Workshop and the Arts and Crafts rooms are generous in space and fitted for purpose for patrons to spend their time being social and creative.

The Wellness Centre is offset from the main Clubhouse and has the feel of a luxury spa.  On entry you are greeted with a natural living wall, once again bringing the outdoor elements indoors.  The gym area is a generous space with modern equipment for all of your exercise needs. The Wellness Centre is completed by a treatment room, sauna, steam room and bowls lockers and overlooks the heated pool and spa.  The deck adjoining the pool includes built in seating with large fire pit and ample sun loungers.

If you would like to inspect this stunning facility our sales office is open Monday – Saturday 9am–5pm. Or join us for the official opening on the 10th of August, further details here.

Why is everyone talking about pickleball?

11 July 2019 by Terence Moyana

It is one of the fastest growing sports in the US, with over 3 million pickleball players, and it has started to become popular in Australia since 2015. Pickleball is a low-impact sport that is easy to learn and can be played at almost any age, so seniors can get the benefits of regular exercise.

What is pickleball?

Pickleball is a cross between tennis, badmington and table tennis. It was created in 1965 by US Congressman Joel Pritchard and some of his friends in America while they were looking for some entertainment. The story goes that Pritchard was eager to play badminton with his friends one afternoon but couldn’t find the equipment so they had to improvise with some table tennis paddles, a whiffle ball and lowering the net on the badminton court.

If you’re wondering where the name ‘Pickleball’ came from, it was actually after Pritchard’s cocker spaniel Pickles, who enjoyed going after the ball while his owners played.

Even though the sport was created in the 60’s, it became popular in 2005 with the establishment of the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA).

Pickleball came to Australia in 2015 thanks to Gabi Plumm, president of the Pickleball Association of Australia. Since its arrival, it has grown steadily and it has become predominantly popular within people aged over 50.

Where can I play?

At Seachange Riverside Coomera we have designed a Country Club that offers a multitude of amenities and community spaces that promote social interaction and an active lifestyle. These facilities include twin pickleball courts so residents and their guests can play at any time of the year.

The Country Club is the latest addition to this exclusive waterfront resort and it will be delivered to the community by the end of July.

If you would like to visit this stunning resort, we invite you to visit us at 29 Ghostgum Grove, Upper Coomera from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, or call us on 1800 006 603 for more information.

The “River House” was designed to be an informal entertaining space, a place that residents would be able to use as an extension of their own home to entertain family and friends.
