$3.5 Million Dollar Country Club Starts Construction at Seachange Toowoomba

8 November 2019 by Terence Moyana

An important milestone will be reached this week at Seachange Toowoomba with the start of construction of the second recreational facilities precinct.  The inclusion of two separate recreational facilities within the resort is a unique feature and one that sets the project apart.

The resort’s first stage of facilities was completed late last year and includes the spectacular Summer House.  This iconic Hamptons style building was constructed by Hutchinsons Builders and was awarded best Commercial Facility up to $5 million at the QLD Master Builders Awards.  It comes as no surprise that the team at Hutchinsons have been appointed to construct the next major facility at the resort.

“Our recreational facilities are the heart and soul of our communities, so appointing a builder that can deliver the quality and craftsmanship that is synonymous with a Seachange Resort is critical.  Having constructed the Award Winning Summer House, we are confident that Hutchinson’s will be able to deliver another magnificent facility for us.” Says Seachange Lifestyle Resorts CEO Warren Harris.

This Summer House is a stunning architectural master piece is already being enjoyed by homeowners offering relaxed spaces to catch up with family and friends.  The building features an extensive library, coffee lounge and games room which flows out to a BBQ pavilion and fire pit that overlooks the heated swimming pool and tennis court.

The second Country Club, affectionately referred to as the big brother to the Summer House is located in the premium position on the resort at the end of the Main Boulevard overlooking Adams Park.  The Country Club continues the Hamptons theme seen in the Summer House, but is a more formal in its finish and feel.

Stepping through the entry of the Country Club you will feel like you are entering a private members club with a built in fire place, stone feature wall and plush interiors creating a cosy and welcoming environment.

The bar area and deck overlooks the resorts bowling green whilst the main dining hall with dance floor and stage offers a spacious and luxurious setting for a variety of functions and parties.  The Wellness Centre will have the feel of an upmarket day spa with heated indoor pool, yoga and Pilates room, gym and steam room.  Additional features such as the craft room, work shop and cinema all allow homeowners to continue to explore new hobbies and passions.

With the 2 recreational precincts combined home owners at Seachange Toowoomba will enjoy an unparalleled lifestyle with everything amenity imaginable right on their door step.

Les and Mary Rose – Seachange Riverside Coomera

Les and Mary Rose moved into Seachange at Coomera from Kings Beach Caloundra, where they had lived in a residential high-rise for 5 years. They began their search after flicking through a magazine over coffee in their favourite place, Montville, where they saw some advertisements for lifestyle Resorts.

After exploring several other villages they spoke with some good friends who mentioned Seachange. They made an appointment with Susan and came to have a look. It ticked all the boxes, and they were particularly impressed with some of the unique features.  Les has a 4 metre kayak and will be encouraging Mary to join him on the water. The free flowing river was an ideal location for them with water sports as well as fishing all now on their doorstep.

They were impressed with the peaceful and quiet location, but with shops and other facilities only 5 minutes away. They also can’t speak highly enough about the after sales service they have received with any problems being quickly sorted out.

The unique double storey house with its dual street frontage, enables Les and Mary to still do some part-time work from home using the downstairs area as an office. With the wonders of the IT world they can work remotely in servicing some of their clients as they slowly move towards retirement.

They have their sons and their families living fairly close in Springwood and Ipswich, which was an added bonus and means that they get to see more of them.

Once they have unpacked all their boxes and found homes for everything they are looking forward to using the swimming pool, spa and gym, and may try Pickleball.

Les is from New Zealand, but has been in Australia for 36 years, so has asked that we don’t hold that against him. Mary is originally from England and was a nurse before helping Les in his IT business, firstly in the office but moving into IT and becoming quite proficient.

Les and Mary are enjoying their new home and lifestyle so much that they have volunteered to be a part of the new “Welcome Centre” at the resort.  The Welcome Centre is a feature unique to Seachange and enables visitors to the resort to have a guided tour of the resort with a home owners rather than a sales person.  This gives prospective purchasers a first hand insight in to what life in the community is like and whether it will be the right choice for them.  The Welcome Centre operates 6 days a week at the resort.

Work starts on second Country Club at Seachange Toowoomba

3 September 2019 by Terence Moyana

A significant milestone will be reached in the coming month at Seachange Toowoomba with work starting on construction of the second Country Club.  This milestone will see Seachange become the first over 50s resort in Toowoomba to include not just one spectacular Country Club, but two.

The first; The Summer House was completed in November 2018 and is already being enjoyed by home owners as a relaxed spaces for residents to catch up with family and friends. This architectural master piece offers relaxed spaces for residents to catch up with family and friends. An extensive lounge and games room flows out to a BBQ pavilion and fire pit that overlooks the heated swimming pool and tennis court.

The aesthetics of the building draw inspiration from Hamptons styling, which was apt given both the location on Hampton Street and also the desire to create a relaxed, elegant and iconic building.  The craftsmanship and quality of this facility was recognised recently upon winning the Master Builders Award for best Community Facility up to $5million.

Some key Hampton’s features that have been incorporated include the use of timber paneling, high pitched ceilings with exposed timber beams, timber floors, neutral and ocean inspired colours, natural materials and an abundance of light.

The second Country Club, affectionately referred to as the big brother to the Summer House is located in the premium position on the site at the end of our Main Boulevard overlooking Adams Park.  The Country Club continues the Hamptons theme seen in the Summer House, but is a more formal in its finish and feel.

Stepping through the entry of the Country Club you will feel like you are entering a private members club.  The facility has been designed to be an extension of every resident’s living room and a built expression of our mind, body and soul philosophy.

To nourish the mind we incorporated a cinema, arts and craft studio and workshop so that our residents can continue to develop their life skills and hobbies. To nourish the body we incorporated the best sporting facilities – including a heated indoor pool, gym and bowling green – so our residents can keep fit and fabulous.  To nourish the soul we have designed beautiful community spaces for friends to meet and groups to gather – meeting rooms and a dining room with stage and a dance floor.

With the 2 facilities combined home owners at Seachange Toowoomba will enjoy an unparalleled lifestyle with everything amenity imaginable right on their door step.

Visit the sales office now to find out how you can join Toowoomba’s premiere resort designed for active over 50s.

Why is everyone talking about pickleball?

11 July 2019 by Terence Moyana

It is one of the fastest growing sports in the US, with over 3 million pickleball players, and it has started to become popular in Australia since 2015. Pickleball is a low-impact sport that is easy to learn and can be played at almost any age, so seniors can get the benefits of regular exercise.

What is pickleball?

Pickleball is a cross between tennis, badmington and table tennis. It was created in 1965 by US Congressman Joel Pritchard and some of his friends in America while they were looking for some entertainment. The story goes that Pritchard was eager to play badminton with his friends one afternoon but couldn’t find the equipment so they had to improvise with some table tennis paddles, a whiffle ball and lowering the net on the badminton court.

If you’re wondering where the name ‘Pickleball’ came from, it was actually after Pritchard’s cocker spaniel Pickles, who enjoyed going after the ball while his owners played.

Even though the sport was created in the 60’s, it became popular in 2005 with the establishment of the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA).

Pickleball came to Australia in 2015 thanks to Gabi Plumm, president of the Pickleball Association of Australia. Since its arrival, it has grown steadily and it has become predominantly popular within people aged over 50.

Where can I play?

At Seachange Riverside Coomera we have designed a Country Club that offers a multitude of amenities and community spaces that promote social interaction and an active lifestyle. These facilities include twin pickleball courts so residents and their guests can play at any time of the year.

The Country Club is the latest addition to this exclusive waterfront resort and it will be delivered to the community by the end of July.

If you would like to visit this stunning resort, we invite you to visit us at 29 Ghostgum Grove, Upper Coomera from Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, or call us on 1800 006 603 for more information.

Try before you buy – Join us for our first open day!

7 June 2019 by Terence Moyana

Seachange Riverside Coomera is opening its doors on the 22nd June from 9am, giving potential purchasers a taste of luxury resort living designed for over 50s. Guests will be welcomed at the main entrance of the resort, where they will be able to see the progress of the soon-to-be-completed Country Club (to be delivered to the community in August 2019).

The newly released display homes will be opened for inspection and guests will also get the opportunity to visit the stunning River House, where they will enjoy live entertainment, fresh coffee, complimentary morning tea and the chance to enter the lucky door prizes.

The “River House” was designed to be an informal entertaining space, a place that residents would be able to use as an extension of their own home to entertain family and friends.

“It really is the ideal setting for unwinding and creating memories, or as we like to call them, Seachange Moments. Our current residents have been making excellent use of this stunning facility over the Summer months, hosting BBQs and enjoying the pool and gym” says Director of Sales and Marketing Alex McMahon.

The Open Day will be a chance for people who are interested in finding out more about this 5-star resort to “try before they buy.” Guests will be able to enjoy an entertaining day and imagine what it would be like to use these recreational facilities every day.

For those who have not yet visited the resort or are just thinking about the future, this is an ideal event to attend. The Open Day will run from 9am-12pm on Saturday 22nd June at 29 Ghostgum Grove, Upper Coomera. Call 1800 006 603 or RSVP here to book your place.
